attatching thermal sensor to heatsink

I want to attach a flat thermal sensor of my temp monitor to the bottom of my heatsink as close to the thoroughbred core as possible. Obviously, scotch tape is a fat no. How do you get it to stick?

I instead attached the sensor to the heatsink on my video ram - and it controls the fan even better than the cpu hs does. But if you are looking for a temp reading instead, try Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive from the makers of AS3.

Yes, it's for the temp. I don't want it to be permanent. I don't know how long I'll have this heatsink. Any other solutions?

dont' bother cause it won't be really accurate anyways?

In reality, its still an external reading, and is still subject to problems related to all external readings....

If you really want to do this, use thermal tape or soemthign similiar to attach it to the CPU pcb... and absolutely get the tip of the thermistor as close (preferably touching) the cpu core.

Remember that temps do vary along different sides of the cpu core, etc

I don't plan on it being super accurate. I'm going to compare the controller reading to the motherboard reading and see how close I can get it. Then I can just take a rough guestimate at the temp by looking at the controller. I mainly want to be able to monitor my temps while I'm playing games.

I found my answer, though. This controller will support fans up to 0.8A at 10W per fan output. The Vantec Tornado squeaks by at 0.76A at 9.1W. These specs are lower than the Delta (which is too high for this controller!) and the Tornado puts out more air. The Tornado is definitely the one I'm getting.
