I've seen a very specific pattern where that's all the left has anymore, simply refuse to address the fact or issue at all.

I'm the guy with the tinfoil, for pointing out a website encouraging citizens to report each other? Really? Is that all the left has when confronted with pure reality? ATTACKWATCH! has become the laughing stock of the internet, just like this president.

Seriously liberal, what makes you think this site is a good idea? Is it just the mind of a liberal that thought this up and they all looked at each other and said "yep, this is a great idea, how could it go wrong?"

They won't address it, because the website is so stupid that it's quite hard to justify. Instead our resident lefties attack you because that's all they have.

Yeah the government should ban this sort of thing and regulate what is put in webpages. o_O

Deflecting from not seeing why it's a bad idea to equating with government ban while not acknowledging the reality that the president and his campaign put up a sight for citizens to report each other as has been done in all communist regimes.

I guess it is the mind of a liberal in action, they don't see anything wrong about this idea.

We attack him because he always delivers on the rabid tin foil hat wearing front.

Cheers for encouraging him though, sometimes I worry he'll get his meds sorted out and deny us all the entertainment.

And you believe in Christ? lol @ you

No, I don't believe in Christ. In case you haven't noticed I've been calling you an idiot for quite a long time now. So far, so good.

Huh? Issuing an assasination order for an American citizen isnt already well past starting to flip the bird on checks and balances?

An unfortunate issue for sure, but lets not pretend it was the first order of business with that guy. We wanted to arrest him and have him stand trial, but he's outside our jurisdiction and actively planning with the enemy to kill other Americans. Doing nothing isn't an option. Just another example of 'damned if you do damned if you don't' - if Obama had said "sorry, we can't do anything as he's an American citizen that won't come home to face the music" your kind would be the first to howl about how he's not taking terrorism seriously and doesn't care about our safety. Personally I would support rendition in that case, not assassination. The reality is that scenario exists outside our borders and involves an admitted AQ member. I feel it's automatically a different equation than say, a president ordering 30 warrantless wiretaps (felony) on Americans within the USA.

Wait, am I to presume this sudden care about citizenship means you Bushies regret the treatment of Jose Padilla? I don't remember too much outrage from you about that American citizen being denied his rights for years, ultimately being "interrogated" to the point of insanity.

Regardless, I was referring to the concept of a unitary executive, and all the imperial trappings it affords, as proffered by Cheney.

So because he wont turn himself in or is easily found you are fine with throwing out due process? Interesting...

Jose Padilla got his day in court even if it required Bush being smacked down. Something that is an impossibility via assasination.

I guess I'm just again having a hard time understanding the outrage here. We just had a admin who directed the FBI to spy on law abiding Americans who disagreed with the need to attack Iraq (veterans too mind you, not just PETA) and there wasn't a peep from the crowd now known as Teapublicans.
Fast forward several years, and the same crowd is now livid over a 3rd party wanting to collect and catalog the sea of misinformation directed at Obama's domestic agenda.

Can someone explain to me why the former situation is somehow less alarming than the latter?
Is this really that much of a threat to the ability to spout stuff like "death panels"? Has there been any actual threat of censorship?

Point of order, he is throwing out due process by choosing to be a fugitive and allying himself with our enemies. I hold the lives of law abiding innocents within our borders as more important than the rights of an individual who has repudiated his country, aims to kill, and is hiding outside our borders.

If Jose Padilla wasn't some two bit terrorist wannabe and was as hard to find, you better believe a kill order would have been put on him too. I like how you avoid mentioning how long Padilla was held, as well as skirting around the whole "enemy combatant" designation.
That's some classic genx right there.

Wow. So liberals still don't get it. It's not about censorship or any of that, it's about the president's campaign encouraging people to report others and what they said. Click on the damn site and click "report attack". Do you honestly believe Obama had no idea this was going on? It's his damn campaign! Do you not see the parallels to early communist russia or germany who had exactly the same programs?

I'm convinced liberals see nothing wrong with this site or the idea, it's obvious from the responses. It's who they really are to the core.

Oh my god. A website dedicated to finding 'misinformation' on the web and 'correcting' it? And they solicit inquiries from readers?

What's next, the SS showing up at your door to arrest you for doubting Obama's birth certificate was genuine? Thought crimes? We must stop these people NOW!

So, everybody, mount up!

Your example of Snopes might actually be good if it was even remotely relevant. Lets say Snopes only investigated issues which made Republicans look bad, then you might have a point.

What a crock. Your "facts" are lies. Did you even look at the site? They are not encouraging citizens to report each other. They encourage people to report "Content ... or link". Their list of attack types focuses mostly on public distribution like ads, websites, TV, etc. Yes, one could use it to report a fellow citizen, but you're outright lying when you claim that's what they are encouraging.

Further, I pointed out the fact that contrary to your Nazi innuendo, this site has no harmful consequence except countering propaganda. Unlike your Nazis, nobody is being harmed due to this site ... other than having their lies exposed. While I'm not surprised you find truth offensive, it simply and factually is incomparable to Nazis and Communist regimes.

You ignore all this of course. You continue to bleat your same dishonesty louder and louder, all the while pretending it's the "liberals" who are ignoring reality. LOL! I can only assume you're hoping nobody notices you're blowing BS.

I have become the laughing stock of the internet, ...

You are flat out lieing, that is not true. You conveniently glossed over the other type of "attack" they are encouraging and that is "rumor". You lie or didn't go to the site.

I can assume from your post and all the liberals in this thread that you're just fine with this site and it's intent? Of all the forums I've been going around today and yesterday, this is the only one where you have people that somehow think this is OK, or a good idea. This place is worse than DU. Just look at all the twitter feeds, the site has become a laughing stock, it's quite a backfire really. Just like flag@whitehouse.gov.

Can I assume from yours that youre in favour of the government having to approve of websites before they can go live?

What the hell are you going on about? Of course I'm not. And if it was some 3rd party it would be less offensive/worriesome, but because it's coming from Obama and his campaign that makes it that much more egregious.

You have to look at it this way - obama and his campaign actually thought this would be a good idea. THAT's what is so scary/wrong. When I first saw it I thought it was some kind of joke or somebody pretending to make fun of obama and his supporters. But then I found out, no joke, it's for real and really is by his campaign. That's when full on rage kicked in and it's been the same for all my coworkers -utter disbelief and disgust.

Well, it's quite likely those other forums aren't quite used to your particular mental defect and are filled with people prone to panic like yourself. Here at Anandtech P&N we tend to think before we shit ourselves. Really, there's only a few exceptions in P&N on either side of the political spectrum who are ruled mainly by lunacy. You just happen to be the shining star of the right for ATP&N. So if you're wondering why any of us might be fine with this, a good rule of thumb is that if you disagree with a crazy person you're probably right. So thanks for being the magnetic crazy on the psycho compass for us.
