Saw the movie again today on DVD. This time I was prepared for the useless and very artibrary Droid Assembly Line Action Sequence. :)

But the rest of the flick was more enjoyable. Any time a lightsabre is in action it's just amazing. That will never get old even if I do!

yeah I'm curious what kinda "tinker" he has planned.... part of me is really excited and hopefull and the other part is semi-afraid

I guess we'll see

I was watching some of the extras and had no idea some of the scenes were CGI. For example the scene of Obi calling for the lightsaber and getting his hands wrapped up and then dragged.... All CGI

Now I get to play the seismic charges over and over and over..... so awesome sounding

I don't mind special effects enhancements so long as they're not overdone but I understand Lucas will be adding whole new CGI scenes. That goes too far. Let the work stand on its own it doesn't need that much upgrading!

I agree. I only watched it once in the theatres but will watch it many times on DVD. I watched with the audio commentary last night and look forward to watching with the surround cranked up soon.

Um, doesn't your PC have a DVD-rom drive? Watch it there.

Oh please.

STEP 1: Pick up a Toys R Us ad and go to your nearest Walmart.

STEP 2: Pick up an Apex 1100W DVD player for ~$57

STEP 3: Pick up a copy of the Episode 2 DVD, walk over to customer service, show them the Toys R Us ad, and walk out with the DVD for $9.99.

How hard is that? I realize $70 may be hard to come by, but surely you can work an odd job for someone over the weekend to scrounge up $70.

The sound and video on this disc are very impressive. The 5.1 mix is the best I have ever heard, there is so much going on in each channel. Even Phantom Menace seems calm in comparison.

I remember watching the Ep IV SE for the first time, and being taken back by how much better the X-Wing scene at the end was with CGI. The movements and camera angles were so much more aggressive. I would very much like the originals to have CGI go in and re-do the action scenes. Can you imagine the Hoth battle from Ep V done with many many more CGI units? It now looks bland and tiny compared to the clone war sequence from Ep II. Also, Mos Eisley looks empty compared to the full-of-life Mos Espa from Phantom Menace. Everyone in Ep IV is human just about, whereas with the new ones, there is a vibrant mix of aliens. Alot of spicing up of the enviroment would go a long way to making the originals better without even touching the storyline.

I bought the DVD already, a WS format of course from Toys 'R' Us.
Unfortunately, $70 is hard to come by now since I need to spend some money on khakis and shirts for job interviews and jobs at CC. Hey, you could do me a favor by paypal'ing some $$$ :) thanks in advance.
