As far as I can tell I am in some sort of Uverse deadzone. I know people from work that live within a few miles of my house, both to the north and to the south, that have Uverse. The suburbs of my city now have Uverse available. But when I contact ATT to find out when/if it'll be available for me they just tell me to check the availability website and won't give me any other info.
Will contacting my state utility regulatory commission work? My dad suggested this to me. He called them once when ATT was dragging their feet on hooking up my parents' phone in their new house, and after the phone call they had phone service the next day. I just don't know if this falls under their jurisdiction, or if there are other options for finding out when/if I can get Uverse.
I am stuck on crappy DSL that doesn't even work as fast as advertised, and Uverse would save me a lot of money. I'd get FIOS if I could but Verizon is not available in my area.
