ATT support

hi,

I bought a 3com cmx2940 modem and it's in ATT's supported modem list.
But this morning I called ATT and can't get it to work. The support told
me to setup the proxy(sas.r2.attbi.com), but the modem still can't get
connected. The cable modem status LED is orange and with green blinks.

Then the support just said that the modem doesn't work. It's a brand new
one I just bought. And she suggested me to return it to the store.
What should I do? return it?

Any experience? Any suggestion?
