hey, i wanna network my 2 pc's with my cable, i got knowledge, they both have nic cards, and both work with the cable if i switch the cables, i have a router to netowrk with, but i called up my ATT@HOME and they said its 5 dollars extra a month to network the second computer, but he said there is a way to bypass it but he cant tell me, does anyone know how or have 2 netowrked pc's already, or is he just screwin me?

Nah. What you want is to have the router be the network 'connection' and have it do the sharing work. You shouldn't have to pony up and extra half-sawbuck for an IP connection.

Try looking here for some basic ideas.

the router i have DLINK DI-704 comes with the software in it, and a default IP, its just can i network them? any people with ATT@HOME cable, do u guys have ur pc's networked?

There are not many people here that have not! 😉

You should be all set to go with your router. Plug the cable modem on the WAN side and your PCs on the LAN side, set the router up with your computer name for @home (something like cXXXXXX-a) and set your PCs to DHCP and you should be set. You will have to reconfigure your mail, but that is no problem. When you get that far just ask.
