My altec lansing ATP-3s have been crapping out recently. The left speaker sometimes doesn't work, and the sound cuts out intermittently when I touch the cable (sub to right speaker, the one with the volume/power control). Has anyone had such a problem?

It looks like the problem is with the 7-pin mini-din connector (brown) from the sub to the right speaker. When I shift that cable it makes the left speaker work (sometimes, lol).

Has anyone tried rewiring a mini-din with a new connector, or could it be the female end in the sub with the problem?

Yea definitely. Hm, can the sub be used separately from the speakers? I might end up getting a pair of bookshelfs if I can't fix that cable.
