The only difference between mine and dwell's server is that I offer 25 megs of space and I think he offers 6... I don't remember...
And for me (on oc3->100mb/s), yours is always slow as hell, and dwell's is rather quick. Hence the "reliable" remark; sometimes people link to pics on yours and the pic loads so slowly that I just give up.Originally posted by: Paulson

I'm not hosting off of a oc3... so I wonder why...
The reason it sometimes loads so damn slowly is because I'm only on a 256kb connection, and a majority of the time it's rather quick and responsive, except for when it gets hammered...
It's free to use though, and I just offer it because it's something rather than nothing. Why don't you host off of your big bad oc3?
The reason for the slowness, it appears, it something in one of the connections between sprintlink.net and you. I honestly can't tell for sure, but all I know is this: for me, dwell's server has always worked much more nicely. Dunno why.Originally posted by: Paulson

Regarding the oc-3, I only host specific things when a mirror is needed (check the Two Towers thread for an example). I can't always devote my storage to public use, though I wish I could, but I help out when I can.
I wasn't trying to be an ass about it; I was just stating what I had observed. Comparing the loading times (for me) of these files:

The loading time on dwell's is instantaneous, while yours takes several seconds.
The only reason I posted the "oc3" information is so that people wouldn't immediately tell me that it must be because of my connection.

Sorry entity, I just am pissy cuz I can't get something to work today...
I've realize the issue with the slight delay, but it's nothing I can do and it usually isn't like a huge 3 second wait, it's more like a 1 second wait or delay...
Oh well, it at least works @ my house perfectly, once it gets to our isp I'm sure I can imagine the speed being mutilated :|

It's amazing how people are being nice. When it started I got a lot of pr0n posted but now it's all legit tech stuff. Thanks to everyone for respecting the house rules.

Don't worry about it. I understand what it's like to not be able to get stuff working...I've been spending all day trying to figure out why this ServerName directive isn't working in apache. It finally seems to be fixed. YAYYYYYYYYY!
