So what is ATOT's favorite mouthwash?
I don't know of all of them, but off the top of my head there is Listerine, Crest, Scope, and some of those store brands (Target). I've only use Listerine and Crest.
Also if you guys use Listerine do you use it at full strength as stated in the instructions or do you dillute it with water, etc? I just had a talk with my oral surgen today and he said to dilute listerine with half water or 1/3 water (I think). I never liked it when listerine burns he heck out of me and waters my eyes up. It is actually quite painful sometimes and to me it isn't good for the mouth and eyes at all.
So is diluting it a good idea to you guys? Any other professional opinions? (I'm going to start diluting Listerine if I do start using it again as he recommended me to use diluted Listerine instead of Crest.)
I currenty use Crest mouthwash which has very very very little burning when I swish it around and it also tastes ok (not as minty as Listerine). The only bad thing is it leaves tiny blue chunks when I spit it out; however, Crest's site says that is normal as it shows the bacteria you are spitting out. The easy solution is to spit it into running water instead of straight into the sink.
"I notice blue specks in my sink after I spit out the rinse. What are these?
The active ingredient in Crest Pro-Health, CPC, as well as the blue color can bind to bacteria and specks in your mouth, making them more visible when you spit into the sink. This is a sign that the product is working and is not harmful. Some consumers find that running the sink before expectorating the rinse helps prevent the blue debris from sticking."
