At one point in the past, someone asked for help on getting rid of flies/gnats in the kitchen. Someone else responded that a pool of apple cider vinegar, with a squirt of dish soap, will cause flies to fall in and drown when they try to drink it.

I was beset by gnats, but i remembered this advice. lacking apple cider vinegar, i used red wine vinegar, but it works, and now i have around 20~ dead gnats collected in the base of a small dish.

So, thank you ATOT, you did something useful for once.

So... Is this actually taking care of your problem? From what I've seen with people that have gnats, it's almost like kill 1, 5 more come.

You mean someone here gave you good advice on purpose? We need to call a meeting about this. Banning may be in order.

actually i have gotten good advice most of the time. the trick is weeding out the trolls.

Best thing i found for gnats is a few ounces of Oberon beer by bells brewing. I left some in a glass over night and in the morning it had a bunch in it.

they love the beer as much as i do!

Seems to be working thus far. I don't expect miracles, so it takes time for then to come and drink, but they eventually do.
