ATOTERS! I have found the perfect religion for YOU!!

Lifer
Thanks to this thread, I was exposed to the bahai religion..

Premises of the religion:
-acknoledges all other religions.
-all prophets are messengers from god, and they are all equal (jesus, moses, muhamamd, etc)
-should not put down any particular religion
-relentless pursuit of the truth
-abandonment of all form of prejudice
-etc

this is sort of like agnostic that believes in god but dont want to choose in any particular religion
they even read scriptures from other religions in their ceremonies!!

so for those agnostics in ATOT maybe I found a religion for u!! 😀😀

EDIT: please disregard the people jacking my thread in finding their roots! 😀😀
EDIT2: updated the title to get more traffic 😀

"parodying" me or what?

No, my high school english teacher really was Ba'hai. How would I be parodying you?

EDIT: Ok, just read the thread where you said your high school english teacher was Ba'hai. Maybe that's because we had the same english teacher?

interesting...what city did you go to school in?

Yes, those are all noble precepts, but provide absolutely no guidance. Yes we can all agree and probably all do try and search for the truth, but how exactly do we do so, and will we agree on the path?

Precepts by themselves do nothing but provide a shallow, and therefore, easy way to "believe".

weird coz hes bahai or simply weird as a person??

1.) He was a weird person, and his analytical skills were of a strange nature
2.) My cousin is also Ba'hai, and was friends with him, so I had to hang out with him outside of school sometimes. I'd say Ba'hai is weird because of the one wedding the three of us were invited to. The invitation read "The Festival of the Flesh." Sounds kinda zombie-like to me.

The Bubble of Tennessee. If you really did go to the same school as me, you would know what I'm talking about. 🙂

while you may be right on some accounts, it actually would provide SOME guidance. i am not very educated on the intricacies of the baha'i faith, so i can not make any sort of statement about it, but i do know that it is a tad bit more complex than how you just made it sound.

IMO this religion makes sense to me, maybe simply because its modern, and relates to current problems...
Also it suports unification of all people, unlike other religions that basically say u are going to hell if u dont follow our ways..

Ah, what a coincidence, my English teacher's name was Mr. Bush. I'd rather not divulge who I am on a public forum. We might know each other, but only through passing.
