So we got a good amount of snow lately. The problem is that I had left the shovel outside and I can't remember where I left it. This is already the backup shovel...the first one is most likely in the back yard of doom.

Diagram of driveway

The dark blue is the really deep snow (over 2 feet) and the light is just usual fluff. I marked with X's the areas that I think the shovel might be. Here is what I have already tried:

Using a stick as a probe,
Walking through the area in question (Really hard ice under snow...I bruised my bumbum)
Sending the kids out to play in each area hoping that they would "find" it

Someone please help me figure out a way to find the shovel! We are getting more snow tonite and its going to be too cold the next couple days to go outside much.

I like the idea of using the kids for that, just make sure all landmines have been taken out. I vote top right corner.

Edit: If you have a hose, you can spray the snow with water. It's gonna make everything REALLY icy, but it'll clear the snow off if you REALLY need that shovel.

C.) Buy a new shovel to find missing shovel

I like these options....I have always wanted to try homemade napalm.

The only problem with option C is that this is already the backup shovel. I have to break the cycle somewhere!

How else do shovel manufacturers stay in business!
