So, I've been watching some episodes of "Naked and Afraid" on the Discovery channel, a survival show where participants have to survive in pair in random locations for 21 days. These are strangers, and as the name of the show implies, they're only given two basic survival tools, such as a knife and a flint striker, and that's it. They're naked throughout the whole show.
You're now thinking "Porn!", but no. I think the premise of the show is to strip the participants down to their primitive selves, and see if they can survive. The people that went on this show are supposedly somewhat adept at surviving, because there's a screening process that grades them on their survival skills, etc... But they're not.
If you watch some of the episodes, the participants are pretty much clueless, and don't seem to have any survival skills, or the resourcefulness to survive. They do really stupid things, and a lot of them quit before the 21 days goal.
Well, there was this one episode where these people were trying to survive on an island in Fiji, there were water, rain, coconut, sea life, bananas, but one had to drop out... Basically, if I were to be there, I'd call it a vacation. So, that's what I've been daydreaming about - "surviving" on that island, for 21 days. I'd probably ask for a surfboard as a "survival" tool, don't know if they'd give it to me...
