It is that time once again. The time twice a year that I leave this humid, sweltering state called Georgia and travel up to the mild atmosphere of Wisconsin. Cheese and Bratwurst here I come!!

But aside from that, I know there are several members who live in Wisconsin. Anyone want a chance to visit TCR? Who am I? Why do you care?

Well, truth is you obviously don't have to, but if I have to find something worthwhile I am the dude of L&R lore who has a relationship with a minor. Want a chance to meet me? Shake my hand? Get a bite to eat? Shank me on my way to the car in the parking lot? Well now's your chance!

I will be arriving in Wisconsin the 25th of June and leaving some time in early August. I will be in the areas of Oregon, Stoughton, La Valle, and Madison. If you live near those locations or are willing to make a trip there I will welcome you. I do not know lots of great places up there to eat, but if you would like a simple meal (no fine dining restaurant stuff just to talk to an ATOT member :p), I will more than happily buy you lunch or dinner at a location of your choosing as long as its not too far from those main areas.

Those who live in the Milwaukee / Green Bay area fret not! I intend to attend a baseball at some point during my stay. If you want to see a game together and chat that works too or meet for lunch or dinner during my time there.

Criteria:

Obviously it has to fit somewhere in the above dates.
You'll have to provide your own vehicle sorry :p
My partner Seru Wolf may or may not attend these greetings depending on her comfort level of the situation.
Saturdays are best days. Thursdays and Mondays are bad days. Fridays are impossible.

All kidding aside, this is a very truthful, and serious invitation. I would enjoy meeting some of the people on the other side of the computer screen. I know many of you guys are about to make jokes and tear this all apart but I'll continue to bump this and answer any questions. If I even get the chance to meet one of you I think it's worth it. YoYo I'm looking for you :p

The occasion we meet under is entirely up to you granting that the place we meet is public and during the day (because I hate driving that hilly back country around La Valle at night). Lunch or dinner can be at any location you select that families can attend (sorry, but i'm not in the mood for strip clubs with random ATOTers :p). I will gladly pay for the meal as long as the location is simple. Let's say arbitrarily that the price isn't to exceed $30 or something like that.

Well, I know there may be things I didn't say and of course they'll be a lot of half-hearted jokes, slanders, and other terse replies so lets get all that started :)

I actually look forward to being able to meet some of you.

EDIT: How about it guys? July 11th? Make a post or something Wisconsiners and tell me what works :p

Memorial Union Terrace good for everybody?

Obviously I'm still good with individual visits, but I figured a group visit may be more convenient for everyone?

EDIT2: PHOLE!!

EDIT3: Well since due to my own lack of responses and others, I decided that individual meets would work better. I sent a PM over to YOyo and we hammered emails back and forth for a day and made plans to meet up yesterday (the 11th) at 6PM to go out and eat a meal then kick back with some movies.

I can't understate how fun this was :D. As a man coming from such a humble background, seeing his audio / video equipment was stunning, or as he pointed out, I kept repeating the word awesome. But someone like me, coming from a 27" CRT and a Pioneer HTIB would most assuredly be blown away by such magnificence.

We ate at the Hong Kong Cafe, of which there's pictures in YOyo's post, which I'll probably drag into this post shamelessly so as to let people easily see it. The food there was great, I haven't eaten Chinese but a few times in my life so it was a surprise for me.

Afterwards we went to his apartment and watched demos just so I could get a feel for the system. Then we settled on watching the Matrix. Yes as he pointed out I haven't seen many great movies. My mother always insisted on me studying and since we lived out in the boonies, there wasn't any practical way to rent movies (Netflix obviously wasn't around at the time). And now I spend so much time studying that I still dont watch that many movies.

I was blown away by the movie, far far better than I had ever expected.

The visit was a complete success. YOyo is such a great dude and his girlfriend was just as delightful to have with us. I'm afraid I can't offer myself such praise as I think I did a great job indicating myself as the ignorant southern hick. But he didn't throw me out so I only assume I didn't do *that* bad.

If you guys want to meet me or YOyo or both, send us a PM alright? :) I should be here till some time in early August.

Chinese Food! (Shameless Rip from YOyo's post)

My eyes say I will kill!

Yeah, I'll be around :)

You're an exception. I want to come to your place and rattle my eardrums to shreds playing bass tests and then watching a combination of flashing colors on your projector that are strong enough to give even the most resilient minds epileptic seizures!

Well as long as you're ok with a semi-obsolete projector with seating distances too close for 720p, I can accommodate that ;)

Disclaimer: Even though the AT Wiki is so kind to describe me as "the definition of a geek", I'm quite lame and boring in real life. I can only guarantee an experience 36% more entertaining than watching grass grow.

Dude. I'm a college student. I got a 27" CRT with a Pioneer HTIB. Even if your projector was 10 years old I would still be drooling over your walls :p

I'm sure I'll be quite the letdown as well. And AT doesn't think that much of me to begin with  So I personally think we'll get along fine :p If anything my girlfriend can be prodded (with questions ;) which should provide hours of entertainment laughing at her nervousness and embarrassment of being seen in public with me :)

That sounds familiar. Apparently my gf ran into someone else who ended up telling her that her boyfriend spent a lot of time playing a zombie game and talking to his nerd gamer friends. That was the same week that I bought L4D so she knew exactly what the other girl was talking about. Apparently they had a good time talking about what geeks their SOs were :p

I'd love it if you could :) As I said as long as you can try to fit one of those above slots you're really quite free to claim any date you like. I'll try to schedule around it.

I would try to meet you half way, and my gf's mother actually has family in MN, but I'm afraid her grandparents have made explicit desires of ensuring she doesn't leave the state for now :p

Considering I respect her, I will have to respect those wishes. But if you can make it to the center of Wisconsin we'll go out and have a good time :)

I'm in Door County; make the extra 45 minute drive from Green Bay and, since it's not exactly a "planned" stop for you, I'll reward YOU with lunch ;)

Door county is especially nice, and since they've really improved 57, man ... it's actually painless to drive from Sturgeon Bay to Green Bay :)

Best part is skipping Brussels - who's the genius that came up with 40mph? I'll take Dyckesville's old "55 to 45 to 35 to 25 back to 45 then 55" over trying to maintain 40 any day.

I dunno, I kinda like stopping at Brussels, always good minute steaks at the Red Owl there ... I'm from out of town and the ones they got around here just aren't as good ... (my grandma lives and has lived in Sturgeon Bay for about the last 25 years though)

All of the meat there is good  (Yes, they even have Bulk Beef)
They actually opened another store (mostly a meat market, but a few other things too) here in "town" (Sturgeon Bay) a few years ago.

The store is about the only incentive to go to Brussels anymore (not like there was really ever anything else to begin with though). I wonder how many tourists actually take the time to stop now that it's "out of the way" - most of my recent trips it's only been the locals there...

If we're meeting at YOyo's place I'm probably within 15 minutes. No rush if TCR is going to be here until August though. I have a company event coming up in the second or third weekend in July, other than that I think my Saturdays are clear.

Bwahaha. I do have a sword, but it's a sakabato (???). I'd prefer not to get arrested for carrying around a blade longer than 4".

Even then it's not my style to randomly assault people in parking lots. :p

Some people are *really* against the whole relationship thing :p

I'll mostly be in La Valle. So Madison, while a distance away, is perfectly doable for me. I'll probably be heading back to Georgia around August 9th.

I'm a college student usually in Ripon, WI, but I'll be in Illinois/Colorado during those times. Oh well.

I was questioned by a fake cop in a parking garage just a couple hours ago ;)
My gf lost her bike lock key, so I brought my $15 imitation dremmel tool over and cut through the lock in less than a minute. During that time apparently this was reported to the security guard guy and he stopped up to ask what we were doing just after packing up all the extension cords and such :p

I'm kind of glad I got my haircut recently since according to my mom, I looked like a terrorist before

So yeah, we could get together at my dumpy apartment. I have no alcohol in the place since I don't drink, but if you guys require some alcohol there's a virtually unlimited supply downstairs at the bar :p
Just no getting wasted and throwing up / knocking over my speakers ;)

thecoolnessrune, I told my gf about all this and she thought maybe she could be there in case your gf wanted to come along and talk to someone who wasn't a complete forum nerd :D

I personally am just fine with meeting up with anybody *depending* on the circumstances... For instance I will have a fit if theres any alcohol involved :p and yes it would be preferred if it were to a public place and if there was an extra woman there, because to be honest I only understand half the words TCR says when he gets all technical :p

I think she's telling me I have a tendency to babble :Q

And yes nakedfrog, it does feel much like "visitation" in all sense of the tone

Meh; if you're not here year-round it's probably a (slightly) bigger incentive to visit. It's really nothing more than a tourist trap. Most of us locals are sick of it since we see the same stuff all year long, but the tourists can't seem to get here fast enough (which I suppose is true for any area).
