I'm trying to put together a trip to Breckenridge so I can get some snowboarding done this year. Money's tight so I figured, why not get a group of people who want to take a trip and split the lodging.

Would anyone be interested? I'm thinking of Jan 3-8 Tues-Sunday....It would be 5 nights which would allow for 4 solid days of mountain time. Breckenridge is far enough from the airport that a rental car is required to get there so it'd be possible to go to Keystone, Vail, or Copper Mountain reasonably too if a change of terrain is desired. The lodging in many of the condos is usually $300-400 a night for a 3 bedroom which would be split evenly between all parties. Any takers?

Nice deal. I wanted to use my timeshare points to get a place out there, but I waited too long. I'm trying to get there the cheapest way possible and it looks like even with a cheap motel it's going to be $100 lodging a night. I figured if I could get 3 other people to go, we could get a condo and make it cheaper than that. ;)

If I can get definites, than I can book. I just don't want to book it and have people bail... That would be suckage. :p

I have a lot of friends here that might be able to go, but many don't have the amount of vacation days I have. :( At least Nissangurl is gonna try to go. ;)

I can get a condo (pretax) for around $230 a night. The condo is 2 bed/2 bath so it has 3 queen sized beds counting the pull out couch... Split 6 ways, it'd be hella cheap. So 5 nights would be like $200 per person......plus plane tix and lift tix. We're talking a 5 day trip for $600 roughly... :p

5 days may be too much for me :(

I am trying to save up for a big trip to Hawaii to visit a friend of mine.

Well...the problem with going too close to the end of December is the holiday prices. Prices seem to jump about 30% around Xmas to New Year's and they abruptly drop around the 2nd of Jan.... Most colleges don't start back to school this year until January 9 due to New Year's landing on Sunday. If you're interested, let me know with PM and I'll keep you in the loop on what I come up with. I have to book ASAP to reserve a condo.

I did 5 days of skiing for $350 two years ago. We skied Breck day 1 and 2, Keystone Day 3, Vale Day 4, and back to Breck on Day 5. We stayed in Frisco because it was much cheaper then staying in Breck, and there was a free shuttle that dropped you off at Breckenridge.

Last year, I did that. I stayed in Frisco for $62 a night split 2 ways.... I went to Keystone, Breck, Vail and Copper Mountain in that order......4 days of solid fun (and pain) :p I feel old. :(

I just hate that a lot of people are more into weekend ski trips. I always plan 4 day trips or more if I can just to make sure I actually get some time on the mountain to compensate for the plane tickets and car rental costs to get there. If you and your friend could go those dates or around the first of January, we may have 2 or more people to split the lodging and car rentals with you.

I might be up for it - only the weekend though. I have some 4-passes for Copper, and just bought new skiis last week! Decided my 18 year old relics neede to be retired so it's time to try these funky bent skiis :p
