Thanks SS! The gloves and beanie will be perfect this Monday at Candlestick and I love Cards Against Humanity but never got around to buying it. Nice stalking with the wedding book too. ;)

FYI - Americana was the best. It had a tad o honey in it which for some reason just made it absolutely delicious.

A great big thank you to my Secret Santa! I received my presents today and even had one for my daughter. This meant a lot to me as she stayed home sick from day care and was generally in a very melancholy mood today. It was nice to see a smile on her face! I didn't even get a chance to take a picture before she had the paper opened and was already checking it out.

As for the gifts for me, I really liked them. The shirt is so true and I say it to myself day in and day out to my clients.

Thanks so much!

I got curious and opened it. My SS is awesome! Coffee and a knife!

I really needed a new knife too. And I really wanted to try this coffee.

Thanks SS! You are the best!

So I have not been very active nor have I posted much as of late. I recently started working out again about four months ago. About 4 weeks ago I started to notice sharp pains in my knee and despite how much personal rehab I did, it did not get better. Low and behold I went to the doc and they did a MRI but the results were not clear. After about a month in pain the docs wanted to scope my knee. When I woke up from surgery I was told I had a torn acl, mcl, meniscus and also had to get micro-fracture surgery from my worn out cartilage. At the time I knew the partial acl and mcl where bad and would require some serious rehab but I knew nothing about the micro-fracture. The doctor proceeded to tell me I would be on crutches for 12-15 weeks and it would be a 12-20 month full recovery time. Needless to say as a father of a two year old I was simply devastated. :'(

Luckily I have been blessed with a strong family and powerful mental mindset. Through all of this I simply forgot about the ATOT gift exchange. that I had signed up for and had to scramble to get my gifts out on time.

Today not one, but three packages showed up at my home today. The pain of my rehab exercises had left me in a foul mood for the duration of the day. When I opened these packages something happened to me that has not happened since I was a child. I was brought to tears by the thoughtfulness of my ATOT SS. I will simply say that this gift has brought light to one of the darkest times in my life. Each gift was thought out and amazing. I am without words at this moment and all I can say is THANK YOU!!!!!!

This is my leg and me sad before the gifts.

Stories like that make me glad this Secret Santa is still worth doing. Glad it could ease the pain a little. Best of luck with the recovery! Seems like this has been a bad year for knee injuries.

Marty I know we complain. I know we fight. I know we never show enough appreciation. But please never doubt how much this means to so many of us. You and Skip brighten a lot of lives every Christmas.

Heck..I think even Shorty smiled one year!

so like I was saying in the other thread, my secret stalker santa is fucking epic. I fear what kind of information he dug up while stalking researching. I guess being a prolific poster has it's advantages. The pome was a nice touch; you have inspired me for next year.
