I'm curious as to if anyone here does roofing and could answer some questions. I just had my roof replaced in June (full tear off) and went from 5 vents to 8 vents (Lomanco 750s). Obviously more vents should help keep the house cooler as heat rises. With my house, this is not the case. The temperature here in the Detroit area is 71 degrees right now and was about 58-60 degrees last night. In my house right now it is 81 degrees. Can someone explain if my roofer didn't install the vents right?

Are there any holes beneath the vents?

Having looked at various bathroom exhaust fans I felt the need to ask.

Yo ucan have a million vents, but with no actual opening in the roof surface, they aren't going to do a thing.

Also, turbines > vents.

vents alone only keep the roof ok and not ridiculously baking hot. I think you need other purpose made side vents sometimes with their own fans or whole house fans for the specific purpose of reducing house temperature further.

I tend to agree. You need a fan up there. In the gable end is best at it will move the most air. Good ones are controlled with a thermostat, so they come on as needed.
