Any ATOT'ers in Cincinnati, I'm headed into town tonight for a conference and was looking for suggestions of good places to grab a beer, etc.

I prefer the local watering hole/hole in the wall type places but I'll take any suggestions.

I'm staying at the Westin on East 5th, so anything walking distance would be best.

Thanks

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! almost forgot. go to the Hoffbrau!

...notice im suggesting things just ACROSS the river in KY

Downtown doesn't have "local watering hole/hole in the wall type places" for the most part (unless you walk up into Over the Rhine," which I don't really recommend to someone unfamiliar with the area). "O'Malley's in the Alley" probably meets the definition of what you're looking for, and that is in an alley in the block bounded by 4th, 3rd, Race, and Vine. http://rodeo.cincinnati.com/f2/dining/details.aspx?siteid=0&id=7787&lid=5314&cID=2

There are a lot of bar/nightclub-type places in the area bounded by 8th street to the north, 4th street to the south, Elm to the west, and Main to the east. If you stay in that general area you'll probably walk by something that interests you.

if you're with a group go to the Hoffbrau. its a blast.

He's not going to walk to Hofbrau or Molly Malone's, though Hofbrau really wouldn't be too bad across the purple bridge.

Note that smoking indoors is banned in Cincinnati, while I believe it is still allowed across the river, if that's an issue for you.
