I wasn't planning on making a pizza today. But on Saturday I took one of my crust out of the freezer and stuck it in the refrigerator to unthaw and do a little cold fermentation. I'm so glad I did. This pizza turned out awesome!

Italian dry salami, fresh sliced jalapenos, fresh cut baby bella mushrooms, fresh cut tomatoes with thyme, (my own) tomato sauce, fresh grated Parmesan, dried parsley. Drizzled a spiral of olive oil while it cooled on the rack. Soooo good!

Starbucks opened a 2nd store in a town near me of only 10k people. It just happens to share a parking lot with a 1000 employee tmobile call center though. Pretty damn nice inside.

They're actually building a 2nd Starbucks here too, never even been in the first one. We have like 10 Tim Horton's so they still have lot of catching up to do.

Starfucks isn't really coffee. It's burnt and bitter. The place that has the consistently best coffee is Dunkin Dildoes. You only associate SB with coffee if for you, coffee = caffeine. But in that case, they make caffeine tablets. So . . . spare yourself.

Diners also tend to have good coffee, but not always. I met some friends at diner that's about 20-30 miles southwest of here - so, closer to Philly than NYC. I'm actually about midway - as the train flies but NYC is definitely dominant.

Anyway, SB has definitely influenced -ahem- "tastes" in coffee. It wasn't nearly as bad as SB but extremely strong.

Again - caffeine tablets.

Oh, if you're limited (for whatever reason) to supermarket coffee, you have no choice but Melita.

If you like super strong coffee and don't want to stand there as the cone drains, just get the #4 filters (and cone) instead of the #2s

September in the NE US is really quite nice. We're actually more like mid-Atlantic these days though.
