Biden announces he's dropping out. Feel sorry for the guy. It was the right decision. No one wants to admit they are declining cognitively.

I just wasted a lot of time. Been trying to see if I can acquire some missing Super Bowls for the server. Have found them in a variety of places. I couldn't find Super Bowl XL and found it in my DVD collection in my living room. Problem is my BD drive could not read it. I thought, why not find a working DVD drive and see if that can read it. Off I went looking for a DVD drive. Surely I'd have a few of those in my collection. So, I'm pulling down box after box of my old computer hardware. I found SIX DVD drives... all PATA! Went to my back room to check my older cases. Found one! Went to take it out. PATA! Aggggghhhhh! LOL. I could have sworn I had at least one SATA drive somewhere. Yup. I did. It was in my server right next to my main rig.

But it was a Lian Li case that cannot access the drive from the front. I released the side clasp holding it into the bracket for the 5.25" bay. I could not get it to slide out because the outer bezel (of the DVD drive) would catch on the bracket. 6 screws later, I am now able to remove the bracket (and the DVD drive) from the server. Now, back over to my main rig. I open my my main rig. Super dusty. Go to grab my can of compressed air. Dead. Go to my pantry to grab another can. I'm out. Man...

Back to installing the DVD drive into my main rig. Turn off PC. Unplug SATA power and SATA data cables. Attempt to plug in DVD drive. Cables are incredibly short. After a lot of tugging, I'm able to plug in the old DVD drive and just let it hang outside of the case. Boot up PC. Push eject button on DVD drive. Disc drawer tries to eject. Doesn't eject. I look for a small paperclip. I have one on my desk caddy. I unbend it. I am able to insert the paperclip into the front of the drawer. I push and after pushing the paperclip far enough, the drawer releases.

I place Disc 1 into the drawer. I move the disc into the drive. It cannot read it. Try disc 2. It cannot read it. I reinstall the 5.25" drive bracket into the server. These discs I made in 2005-2007 with my Sony DVD recorder/VHS combo for the living room. It was supposed to be a replacement for VHS. Now, I can't read the discs. I believe I have the device in storage. I don't think the DVD drive is working. Sigh...

To be fair, I'm a data hoarder. Hi everyone! I'm bigboxes and I'm a data hoarder! I'm powerless to stop. But in all seriousness, it's a hobby of mine. I enjoy collecting, organizing and working on hardware. I'm pretty sure there is some direct lineage for over 40+ years when I started buying records and recording mixed tapes off the radio.

I don't think those cinder blocks are good enough for the wind load.

Hoping it will at least last until I go there again. I need to get a grommet crimper so I can add grommets to the edges of the tarp. There is nothing on it to fasten it to anything. Will probably also want to wrap ropes around the top to hold the tarp tightly down. The winds we get here can be pretty brutal.

I will probably end up building another shelter and making the structure out of wood instead. I have a 30x20 tarp I can use and it already has grommet holes. This one I'll probably end up just using for firewood.

LoL I think every atoter is a data hoarder

Alright. Finished my Super Bowl project. After finding my missing ones and upgrading those to better quality, I now have all but two Super Bowls, Super Bowl XV (1981) and Super Bowl XXXIX (2005). Of course, I'm a Raiders fan and XV is the Raiders vs the Eagles. I can't believe that it hasn't been rebroadcast by the NFL. But now I've got everything updated, on the server and backed up. Yay!

Grabbing Super Bowl XV right now. Found it on Rumble. And I found Super Bowl XXXIX on YouTube. Snagging it as well. Love to have them all. Will work on pre-Super Bowl championships when I get a chance (NFL & AFL pre merger).

Our company just signed a new janitorial contract with a different company that greatly underbid and now the janitors are getting major pay cuts and lot of them quitting. The one that does our building is now down to like $300/pay. Barely enough to cover property taxes let alone all the other bills. What a shit show this is lol.
