Hey, I don't make these things. I just make sure as many people as possible get to see them.

You're welcome

Yes, I know - JHC thread. Fine, move it if you must.

The back EMF shakes all the wiring or something, it's almost like the whole building shakes. Does that at my house too, but really feel it more in the office since there's a bigger power load. But can feel it right in my body, it's a weird sensation.

Apparently Reddit has a new skin and it's super terrible. I guess they are pushing it on random users. I thankfully have not been subjected to it yet.

Waiting for teppanyaki nef
Cool. There are a few Japanese restaurants around here so . . . the more you know . . .

Teppanyaki, often confused with hibachi, is a post-World War II style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. The word teppanyaki is derived from teppan, the metal plate on which it is cooked, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried.

Solar storm?

Lots of wind last night, so knocked power out in a few places. I think when it's a big enough outage it generates tons of back EMF when the grid suddenly sheds such a big load. At least that's my guess.

When the mine here does a shutdown they actually have to call hydro before, so they can be ready for the sudden loss of load. I imagine they have a procedure to shut stuff down more gradually and not suddenly. But if power goes out unexpectedly then that's another story.

Been working on relaunching my old forum... for way longer than I'd want to admit. Well it's finally almost ready now. Mostly testing stuff in the live environment now before I launch it. Hoping to do that before Christmas. It's probably going to stay dead... but at least I can say I finished that project.
