Cancelled the landline today. Only kept it because of DSL. It's a weird feeling to not have home phone. Almost like being homeless, except for the having to shit in the bushes part.
 
I felt weird when I cancelled mine too. I had access to the phone switch so if I needed to test something sometimes I'd just do it on my home line. Then we got fibre so the land line got ported over to that system which we don't have access to, then later on I was changing my package around to try to save money and it was cheaper to just drop it.

I always wanted to look into some sort of voip solution like Asterisk and get trunks so I can still use regular or even IP phones but never wanted it bad enough to persue it. Biggest thing for me is ability to dial 911 in an emergency and if the nature of it makes it hard to use a cell like some kind of really bad workshop accident. But I figure the odds of that are fairly slim.
 
Started coming down sick a week ago. Lost the battle last Thursday night. Still sick. Sick of being sick. Being human is annoying.
 
I seem to get lucky, I get a bad cold that lasts a week or more every couple years, but that's about it. I got covid in around 2021 or so, then a cold a week later and that was the last time I was sick.

My wife teaches in elementary school as a Title 1 interventionist. This year they are focusing on k-2. Sticky slimly little disease infested buggers that they are. Cute as hell though <shurgs>.

It's got to be over 10 years without a landline for me. Once I went for unlimited call and data plans, I mean, what's the point?
 
Lol coworker accidentally put his password in slack and immediately noticed and deleted it but it just so happens everybody saw it and is now razzing him.
