Just went to say an official goodbye to our janitor at the building I've worked at for a good 10 years. It was kind of emotional for both of us. She's really sad to see all of us go. It's also surreal walking in there and seeing all the boxes and stuff. We knew this move was coming but crazy that it's really happening.

How are you doing? You know, with the cat dying and all.
 
I took my girl cat to the vet to do the same thing I had done to her son. Cleaning her teeth. They have to knock them out to do the procedure. Turns out she had to have a tooth extracted. Man... having pets is so expensive.
 
Check it out! I've been buying myself Christmas presents. This is the Sunex 3580 3/8" Drive master set of impact sockets. It has shallows, deep wells, and swivels of both metric and SAE. Also, Torx and four extensions (3", 5", 10", 15") and universal. They came covered with a coating of oil. It doesn't bother me, but I did take all 80 pieces out and wipe down each socket and the case. They are ChroMo. Thin walled and high strength. I love good tools. It's like 8mm-19mm no gaps for all shallows, deep wells and swivels. Pretty much same with SAE. Pretty impressive. I already own some Sunex tools. A 30mm deep well for my Toyota's hub, locking extension set (3", 5", 10"), 3/8" low profile hex impact set.

But like others had noted in their review of this purchase, some of the pieces move out of their place in the case and become loose. I made a cardboard spacer from the shipping box (Home Depot).

Doing better, it was rough for the first week or so. I would just randomly start bawling out. The reality of it still hits me sometimes, and I still get my moments though. Nights are sometimes hard since she'd always follow me to bed and late at night I'll get up to go pee and when I get back in bed I just expect her to be there just for a split second. Then I can't sleep. Other situations trigger that too like when I arrive home and she's not running at the door to greet me. Or even when I go down to the basement, I didn't want her down there so I'd always be sure to close the door, and I'm still doing it out of habit.

One thing that really helped me cope is thinking of all the good times and how I gave her lots of love and petting to the end. She had a good life, almost making it to 18. Also I have so many pictures of her, so glad I took so many. Some random ones with my phone but also good ones with my DSLR. My only regret is I don't have that many videos of her, but I do have some. I actually need to make an album of her, I'd like to have some pictures in print, I just feel it's safer than only digital. I did do 2 separate cold storage backups though. Not just of my cat but all my pictures in general. I have pics going back to like 2004. Lots of memories in there.

But yeah overall doing better. I've been waiting it out but I do want to get another cat or maybe even two. I just don't want to jump the gun and if I do get two I need to think hard about that. Extra vet bills, more food, litter etc. But they will keep each other company when I'm on 12h shifts. My cat seemed to be ok with it but think the night shifts did stress her sometimes.
 
I'm up temporarily watching one of my fat little ferals chow down. He/she is just so plump it even has a fat tail. It's 26F outside and it's all bundled up its black fur coat. I can barely stand it - they're sooo qute. I just hope it's not a pregnant female.

I have my share of Sunex hand tools - extension set, a couple swivel sockets, set of 9 flare nut wrenches, set of 14 metric sockets. And a 30mm deep socket for my crankshaft.

I love Sunex tools. I got a couple more sets coming. I want more, but I think I've spent enough on myself the last couple of months. That's the good part about being single. Gifts for boxes!
