I keep forgetting to wear long sleeves to come here. So freaking cold in this office. I don't understand how they are saving money with this new hvac control system. The A/C just runs way more now. We used to be able to control it.

I want to make a box that I can place over the sensor and it uses a peltier to cool the sensor.

Found another site that sells properties, downside is these ones have HST so I need to add 13% to the price. But there's like 3 that are interesting right now.

160acre that looks like it was an old farm, and a 60 acre with small pond and more mature trees for 55k, which is more like 62k which is a few k past the max of my credit line (but that goes up every pay day as I make a mortgage payment)

And there's a 40 acre one for 32k which is really 36k. It looks like it was a clear cut at some point, even on google maps. But there are lot of mature trees still based on pics. Would need to go see it.

At this moment even with stocks being low I have 37k in my ESPP. I feel this property is actually a more reasonable purchase and 40 acres is still a lot of land... like sure 160 would be awesome but 40 is a lot too. It converts to 400m by 400m which is roughly 4 subdivision blocks or roughly double the field that's in front of my house.

OR do I wait another year so I can grow my available credit and pay more of my credit line off, then just go for a bigger one. :p I feel I may not see too many properties for this cheap for very long though.

I think on my next day off I will go for a ride to check all 3 out with my drone to get an idea of the tree maturity. Don't want to end up buying a property that's just a giant field with a couple trees tucked in the corner. Can't go by just the real estate pics since they can be deceiving.

I'm mostly torn between the 160 acre and 40 acre one. The 160 acre one just looks interesting, it looks like there's some old stuff left on it and possibly an old building, and the 40 acre one is just more reasonable financially and also a bit more secluded. The 60 acre one has a pond though, so that's cool, but realisticly I could rent a dozer and make one on the 160 acre one if I really wanted to. If the 60 acre one was cheaper than the 160 than I would be more sold, but it's same price, so if I'll pay that may as well go for the bigger one.

Decisions decisions....

Just watching my city completely deteriorate due to high crime is making me want to have an exit plan more and more and buying off grid land is a good first step. Rome was not built in one day but at least securing land is a start. If the taxes and other bills going up every year is not enough, add all the crime on top of it. Just not feeling it here anymore, time to consider opening a new chapter in my life.

Yesterday was a bitch of a day. I was hoping for things to go smoothly. With car repair, you never know if something will go wrong. Well, I did run into trouble. I was unable to get the castle nut loose that was holding the ball joint on the control arm to the steering knuckle. No amount of penetrating spray or force was getting that off. There wasn't clearance to use the impact wrenches I had, nor a breaker bar. The 3 foort pipe I use to give leverage to my ratchet wrenches was not big enough to fit over my boxed end wrench and they didn't sell pipes of a larger diameter at Lowe's. Both me and my friend tried using our feet to push on the wrench, to no avail. My mini sledge didn't break the nut either. Plan B... I decided to cut off the castle nut with my cut off tool. What a bitch. FML. I started at 7am and finished putting my tools away at 11:30pm.

Today, I had to get my car aligned as the front tires were toed in. It was causing the tires to squeal quite loudly. The suspension was jumping all over the place. I found a tire shop in east Arlington that was open on Sunday. Turns out that they are Muslim. They were quite friendly with the father (owner) and son working on the vehicles and the mother working the office. $50 was a good deal to me. My car rides great again. I was getting worried when I went to get something to eat last night after not eating all day. I had to get the car up and running as it's my only vehicle. Pretty cool to do the repair myself. Just wish that damn castle nut would have come off. I did get some wings today after getting the car aligned. It was a beautiful weekend. Drove with the windows down. Not a cloud in the sky!

Shit if I can get alignment for 50 I'll do it every tire change.

The last time I did an alignment on that car was 2014 when I bought the car. I purchased new Michelins and then called a place to do the alignment. They quoted me one price, but then said my car was more expensive when I got there. I went ahead and did the alignment. The owner came out during the work. Saw the new tires and told me he could get me a better deal on them. Right. After you did your shady dealings you want me for further business. Not. Last time customer.

Today's experience was quite pleasant. It wasn't a really pretty shop, but who cares. They treated me nice (customer service) and gave me a fair price. I will be back if I ever need an alignment again.

Did I mention that I had to take off the engine/transmission mounts to access the mounting bolts on the control arms? Probably. But that is what made job so much fun. /sarcasm
