Success! I changed out a wheel stud for the first time. It would have been a lot quicker if I had a garage, but still did it all in about an hour. I feel so empowered. The sun started setting as I was putting the brake caliper back on. Ran back inside and got my light. Had to push the caliper piston back in and then I was done in short time.
It's cool that I don't have to rely on someone else to replace these wheel studs any longer. I didn't just buy one wheel stud and one lug nut. I bought five of each. It wasn't that hard with the right tools. That little wheel stud installer tool made a difference. It's got bearings and the inside spins and tapered (for the lug nut) on the other side.
