Technically the one you got is way bigger than our office space ones (we just have regular desktop ones) but the one that does the equipment is WAY bigger. We don't really refer to it as a UPS but it's basically the same idea as a dual conversion one except most loads just run straight off DC. There is as big inverter too though for the 120v loads. We have 4 strings of 24 2 volt cells that are around 4900ah each IIRC so that gives us just under 20,000ah. We have two big diesels too the battery plant is mostly in case they don't start and to carry over the load.

Was just a joke. There is no way you have less backup power than me.

I find myself reluctant to buy a replacement desktop at the moment. It seems everything is pointing to a pending generational shift in CPUs and chipsets. I bought my last desktop just before Sandy Bridge came out. I keep thinking, "Here I go again, jumping a moment too soon." I know new tech is always coming out but sometimes a few months make a huge difference.

I just looked at the schedule of upcoming classes my company is offering to employees. Covey's Cult of Corporate Crap is back. What year is this? 1995?

Really now?

And here I was thinking my upgrade from Ivy Bridge took way too long.

I say, when you need to upgrade you get the best that you can afford. There will always be something better. They're obsolete the moment we first fire them up.

Been nice all week but I was working. Of course tomorrow the rain starts again non stop for the next week at least, because I'll be off.

I'll never get my deck built.

I ended up setting up a flood light and doing the rest of the footings after work since I got a load of gravel on my lunch break so I can pack it in properly, given I have a truck now. It's the last dry day for a while, probably before the snow comes. At least want the footings to be in before the ground freezes. The footings are just patio stones but still had to dig a little bit to set them in.

Windy as hell right now too, was worried some random piece of debris would clock me in the head or something lol. I hear lot of sirens, something going on, not sure if related to the wind.

I can probably just wait till the snow comes to do the rest. At least it's dry weather when it's cold enough for snow.

We live in the amazing world of tomorrow. For the past twenty years a data service company has mailed us quarterly updates via CD. This quarter, for the first time ever, they sent us the data on a thumb drive.

Cashed in some work shares several weeks back and they still have not come in.

Hope it went to my new bank account and not my old one.... my old one is closed. Some random person who got that number is going to be pretty happy. Pretty sure it should have defaulted to my payroll account though. I'll give it another week since I'll be off and if they don't come in by the time I head back to work I will try to find a contact to see what's going on.

Great, hearing a mouse in my attic. I just can't figure out how they are coming in. I'm guessing it's through the intersection of the two roof sections somehow. They can fit in pretty small holes. I'm sure it will hit my traps sooner or later.
