Hit another "10k" milestone on my mortgage today. Down to 79k now. It seems it was not that long ago I hit 99k. That was a real big milestone though to take off a digit.

Still need to figure out my car situation though. I either go to a normal car again or a truck, which I want. But trucks are so much more money even used. I can get a used certified car from the dealer right now for under 5k. I'm actually thinking of just doing that. Then I don't need to eat so much into my savings. I really want to keep that to buy property. On the flip side some of these properties are pretty sketch getting to with a regular car so a truck or SUV would be nice for that.

My boot drive (Samsung 850 Pro) died on my main computer. I've been thinking about replacing the machine anyway but it still sucks. As I type this on my very whiny laptop I am reminded of why I bought a totally silent desktop. Of course now it is even more totally silent. I just don't want to spend the money.

Found a promising looking 2009 F150. Around 13k, may need a bit of work but it's a short cab long box which are hard to find and what I want. 95,000 km. I'm working all week but my dad is going to go check it tomorrow. It's a little out of town but not that far. He has way more experience with this sort of thing than me so glad he's helping. It's hard to swallow spending that kind of money on anything but it will sure be nice having a truck. I kind of need a truck if I want to buy an off grid property anyway. So while I will be putting a dent in my savings it's kinda inevitable that I would have had to make this purchase anyway.

Then again have to take these rumours with grain of salt. Every time there is anything new being built people think it's a Dairy Queen. It's almost a running joke these days "oh maybe they're opening a Dairy Queen". Funny thing is way back in the day there actually was a Dairy Queen here. Like back when my parents were kids.

We have a local ice cream shop that is basically the same idea anyway, so in a way it's best we don't have a DQ. When we are out of town we tend to go there though since it's a treat. Chelmsford DQ is practically a tradition to stop at if traveling down south. It's kinda like Webbers. You can't pass there and not actually stop.

So I might be buying a truck. 2009 F150. They're asking 13k I offered 12.5k. Asked to make sure transfer case and A/C works. I don't think non working A/C is going to be a deal breaker but transfer case will be unless they can drop the price. Hoping they call me back soon though I'm excited at the possibility of getting a truck. Hopefully it all works out.
