I checked my electricity bill and I used 1.2 MWH last month for a 2500 sq ft house and 5 people. How on earth did the soulness redhead use 1 MWH in a bungalow with only 1 person.

A/C mostly. I work shifts, so I get lot of time off which means I'm at home more often than someone working a typical 8-5. Some days it was running all day when we were getting a heat wave.

The mining rig also did not help. I turned that off now, was not making much, and because crypto is taxed now it's not worth the hassle anyway. You're expected to handle the taxes yourself including payment and I have no clue how to even do that so easier to just stop mining anyway and wash my hands of what I did make. Probably find a charity that takes crypto or something.

I find most laptops are crap now. Because of the race towards the thinnest laptop they're basically just x86 tablets at this point. Slow and not a lot of I/O ports. What boggles my mind is that most laptops still ship with a spindle drive by default, and you need to remove like 40 screws to get to it to change it to a SSD. I kinda miss the old days of big thick laptops with tons of I/O and expansion, and easy to access the ram, hard drive etc. Some even had room to put a secondary hard drive.

I really want a decent laptop with a super strong battery and performance that isnt painfully, annoyingly slow.
Unfortunately that pretty much means just gaming systems and those arent cheap.

Off for a week nef.

Winter definitely coming. 8 degrees right now. Getting cooler at night. Still warm in the day though. Will be good weather to build my deck provided it does not rain.

Of course you have. It's not really a whole lot of money anymore.

lol no I wish. MAYBE gross but not net. If I did my house would be paid off. I make around 80k which is roughly 40k/year after taxes/deductions (not counting bills but strictly stuff that comes off the pay) and been working for a bit over 10 years but didn't always make that much. Probably not worth counting when I worked as a summer student, probably made around 20k or so roughly. Got taxed less back then.

Speaking of house being paid off, I'm getting there. A bit under 81k left. 2 more pay cheques and I'll be down in the 79k range. I knock off around 10k per year. Recently raised my payments by $50, once I'm done with my deck and garage project if I manage to stay out of the credit line I'll increase it by another 50k.

Just came back from a 1 hour walk. May as well take advantage of it while it's still nice out. Though I've started to push myself to go even in winter, it's not that bad once you get moving.

Did absolutely nothing else today so at least I accomplish SOMETHING. Well I did do some laundry too so there's that.

Tomorrow I tackle the rest of the fireplace to get that out of the way, so that I can start on the deck during the week. Looks like the weather will be decent.

Wait I take that back, only Monday will be decent. Rest is all rain now. Sucks. At least I'm working with PT lumber so not like I need to tarp stuff all the time. I can probably still get some work done when the rain stops and then go back in when it starts again. I could in theory work in the rain if I make a little hut for the mitre saw and put a bag over my drill but still sucks working in the rain.
