I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a 4000w inverter off Amazon. $729 bucks and has good reviews...

It's a pretty big purchase though for something where you're on your own if it dies down the line. Goal is to replace the 300w one in my shed. I want to run circuits to the house and outside the shed and basically be able to run any plug in item without worrying about it not being able to power it. Mitre saw etc.

Might have to resist that temptation though. Just spent $1,500 on lumber, and about to spend $2,500 on concrete work (if the guy ever calls me back to do the job!) then probably close to $1,000 more to spend on more lumber after that to finish the garage.

So yeah I should wait this purchase out lol. Or at very least wait until I've ran all the circuits I want to the house and realize I actually need more power.

I ventured too deep into Reddit. I thought /r/metacanada was just an alt for /r/canada but it's actually conservative extremism. Climate change deniers, flat earthers etc. This hurts my brain.

There is obiously something fishy about space. The Sun creates enough deadly gamma radiation to penetrate about 10 or more feet of lead in a zero atmosphere environment. Even people who regularly fly in transcontinental flights must be careful to not overdue their travelling lest they become exposed to hazardous levels of cumulative solar radiation.

How does NASA create machines with sensitive electronics that are able to stay in low orbit for years on end without catastrophic damage from solar radiation?

How are astronauts able to stay in orbit for months at a time without suffering acute radiation poisoning? I'm pretty sure the walls of the space shuttles aren't insulated with over 10 feet of lead.

Deep space probe are even more problematic. Exposed to the full brunt of solar radiation, how are they able to keep functioning long enough to get to places like Neptune? The Chernobyl probe lasted less than 10 minutes after being exposed to the melting reactor. The sun emits millions of times the gamma radiation that the Chernobyl reactor emitted upon meltdown.

Back to work tomorrow. Night shift though so I can still stay up late.

Been upproductive in these past 4 days off... I should maybe try to do something productive tonight like tear out the indoor portion of the fireplace. I was going to leave that as a winter project but I may as well at least get the brickwork out, can do the drywall another time. Bought mortar mix so I can block it off too. Technically not really needed since there will be a wall on both sides, but may as well do it proper.

Timmy's nef.

Don't know what they put in there. I make my own coffee at home but still crave Tim's sometimes. :p Their Belgium Waffle sandwiches are back too. Probably full of chemicals but damn it taste good! The waffle itself is like infused with flavour. Probably not very healthy, but whatever. lol.

I'm like 5-10 minutes away from pretty much anything. Joy of living in a smaller city. Going to see my parents later for a BBQ before I head for my shift.
