I doubt there is even an Asian supermarket up there.
That's a pretty small compromise.

Salmon and spinach pizza :awe:Speaking of take-out...
Ordered pizza lol.
Was going to make fish with veggies but my hunger hit fast so I need something quicker.
No it isn't. I probably can't even get authentic chinese takeout.
Actually we do have a place called London Cafe, and also Cozy Corner. No idea if that meets your "authentic" requirement but they are Chinese food places.Chicken balls, rice, that kind of food.
We have an Indian place called Holy Cow. A couple sushi places have popped up in the past decade or so as well.
Not sure what part of that is wtf?
Well not everyone is so picky here. These places always pretty full. Not as full as the fast food and poutine places though.
Lol I probably have more Chinese people in my subdivision than all of Timmins.
Is having people of your ethnicity important to you? You just want the culture? The food? I ate at one Chinese operated burger joint in Pecos, Texas back in 2013 and it was not that good of food. One of my favorite restaurants, a Chinese restaurant, closed down this year in my 31st year of being a customer. Now, that's a bummer!
no, has to do with stores and stuff. You cannot support an Asian supermarket when there isn't enough Asians in a town.
I bet Timmins doesn't have a supermarket that sells live fish.
Also, if a Chinese restaurant doesn't depend on Chinese clientele, how authentic do you think it would be. Unless we are talking high end stuff, which you won't find in Timmins anyway. This applies to everything that is not there in small towns.
Chinese food, as we know it, is fast food. It is not what Chinese people (from China) eat. So, by authentic, you mean what people from Chinese eat? And yes, if that's what you're looking for then you'd have to live in an ethnic area. You also have to admit that you are outside of the norm when it comes to an eating out budget.

You can get live fish here, it's called fishing.I can pretty much go for a 5 minute drive and throw a line in the water and fish. Never caught anything there though... probably why hardly nobody goes there.
I don't fish a lot myself but ones who do know all the good spots. There's a lot of them.
We may not have any oddball exotic stuff here but I don't think anyone here really cares about that stuff. Being away from the hustle and bustle of the south makes up for it.
