I really need to figure out why disk I/O in my VM environment is so bloody slow. It took about 8 hours to install Debian. I think NFS is the issue, I need to look into iSCSI.
I eventually want to do a Qemu / Gluster setup but it's super complicated to setup. I would want to write a front end to it so I don't have to do everything manually. That was my original intention but ESXi is more turn key, downside is the free version is rather limited so want to move off of it eventually and do a multi host environment.
When I build my mining rigs I'll probably have them double as VM servers. I think that should work, because the mining does not really use the CPU or ram much. So the host OS will do the mining and the VMs too. Still need to figure out the storage situation though, I just don't know why it's so slow.
