Ugh got up way too late. Been trying to get up before noon. It worked fine yesterday - I had no choice since I had an appointment. Today I woke up and checked the clock and it was 2pm. Damnit! I set my alarm for 11am but don't even remember it going off.

As a side note I have an Amazon order that might show up today, looking forward to it. It's a deep cleaner. I want to completely deep clean my couch since despite me cleaning it manually I don't feel that it's clean enough given how often my cat pukes on it.

You need a couch cleaning ferret.

Too much fun.

They chew things. Get into shit. Tear your toes up at 3AM. Poo in the corner. Poo on the counter. Poo on the cat, the dog, the hamster, eat the hamster. Eat wood. Eat metal. Eat styrofoam. Die.

Its kinda stressful.

Lol yeah sounds like a pain... that's the downside of the more exotic pets. I always thought a pet squirrel would be awesome but the reality is they would do lot of damage and poop/pee everywhere too. You can sorta litter box train them though, but you kinda need a special situation for that, like it has to be raised by a cat.

I think there's a special additive you can add to diesel too, so I presume some people use it but not everyone. The block heater may also warm the gas tank in some cases.

Which reminds me I want to try that ramen trick where the fork stays in the air lol. Need to buy some tomorrow.

Ugh I hate how anything in Linux never can't be easy.

Trying to install Debian and it won't even detect the cdrom. YOU FUCKING BOOTED OFF OF IT YOU IDIOT! To be fair I've seen Windows do that shit too.

Now to spend hours googling and troubleshooting something stupid. Probably end up just trying another distro.

That won't change anything. You still have to install an OS in a VM. I would be getting the same problem there.

You also still need an OS to run the VMs.

Just trying to install Debian on a separate SSD so I can start etherium mining on my gaming machine until I decide to build a dedicated box.

I got it to detect the cdrom (which is really just a usb stick) but now it fails at another part. Going to try UEFI mode and see if that changes anything.

Except in a vm your debian will see a cdrom if you provision it in the setup. I think it is time you played with esxi

I already have ESXi, most of my stuff is virtualized. You still need some machines to be physical in some cases. This is my gaming machine, I don't care what people say you can't virtualize a gaming machine. Going to be using it for etherium mining temporarily until I build a new machine for that.

I also learned the hard way that you can't virtualize DNS. Because you need DNS to work so you can mount the luns. Where I worked we had a physical domain controller for the same reason. When you lose your domain controller you lose DNS, and ability to login to anything. So we had a virtualized one and a physical one.
