It was a high of 73F today. Got a lot done today.

Got all the hard drives on the file server mapped on the network. Freakin' A, man. It's been a lot of headaches on putting together this makeshift file server. Had 180 updates today. The next step of my project is to label each physical drive so I know exactly what each one has on it.

Ummm. Isn't that sort of like putting a sign on a lightbulb that says light?

Hahahaha it's feeling brisk here and the temperature was 62f 17c. It was windy and cloudy though, so it felt cooler than it was. Still in shorts but it felt more like fall so that's nice.

Got a haircut today, was badly due. Did other errands and donating blood in an hour. Busy day.

Suppose eating a poutine before donating blood was not a good idea though.

It's kinda sad when even prestigious companies are getting on the mass layoff bandwagon. Make people work harder for less. That's basically the new corporate philosophy being used at most companies now.

Just got back from donating blood, was super busy tonight, was in there a good 2 hours. That's the part I find annoying is the waiting. They did streamline the process a bit though, so you may not wait any less but there are less steps in between. Some of the questions make me laugh though. It makes me feel that I lead a boring life. It's no to everything. :p

Sigh. I had labeled all of my drives and reordered them. Then I hooked up the new 8TB drive and formatted it. I thought to myself: See if the 10TB enterprise drive with the power disable feature will spin up with the new top of the line power supply. Hell, it wouldn't even spin up at all, let alone be recognized. Lame. Attached the lone molex cable (2 connectors) and hooked the molex to SATA adapter. The drive was able to spin up fully and now I really want to just save the 10TB drives for use in the dual Xeon rig. I think the 8TB drives will be good enough to expand my TV Shows 2 & 3 and then back that data up. Then I'll have four 2TB drives doing nothing, which means I can repurpose them for something else.
