Finished spray foaming rim joists nef. Managed not to get any on my beard!

Breathing in some VOCs before bed time. Fun stuff. At least it's not too cold out, only like -9 so have the basement windows open with fans.

Tomorrow I might start on the batt insulation. At least do a section anyway, to get a idea of how far a bag goes. I can only buy one at a time anyway as it takes up the whole back seat.

Bullshit, I know a meth cook when I see one, I have watched Breaking Bad enough times.

1. More pics of the project. Not just the finished job.

2. Temperature is relative, but -9C is cold. My mother had a friend visiting from California. The friend stepped outside in 20F (-6.7C) without a jacket. Friend quickly jumped back inside. Exclaimed, "Now, I know what cold weather feels like." With a smile on her face, my mother quickly retorted," No. You really don't."

3. Shave, ya lazy bastard!

-9C is not cold. I go out with an undershirt and a dress shirt in that weather.

Yeah -9 is not that bad, even in a tshirt if just going out real quick. -15 is where it starts to get cold, it also depends on what type of cold. I've seen -5 feel like -40. Especially a few months ago, it was the weirdest thing, the actual temp was high but it felt super cold.

Random pics of project, not much to look at since it's inside the joist cavities:

Oops

I missed a lot of spots though where I did not get a perfect seal, so I'll have to go back with some cans. Oddly I had a lot left and started to do the joists themselves, but really I should have concentrated more on the top to ensure it's sealed right. Oh well. Still better than what was there before! (nothing)

When Love Fades

Last night I was sitting on the sofa watching TV when I heard my wife's voice from the kitchen ask...

"What would you like for dinner, my love? Chicken, Beef or Lamb?"

I said, "Thank you, dear, I think I'll have chicken."

She replied , "You're having soup, asshole. I was talking to the cat."

Do you just like to be adversarial? -9C is fucking cold. It's not hot. It's not warm. It's cold. Now, I didn't say really cold. I could go out with just a shirt for quick runs, but it's definitely warm gear for longer lengths of time. I'm hot natured. However, my hands get cold easily. I grew up in the Midwest and aggravated my mother to no end by leaving my jackets and losing them. I just got too hot.

Squirrel, thanks for the pics. Keep us posted as your project moves along. The cold you are describing is a damp cold. That just goes right to the bones. It's probably worse for me as I've aged. With all my injuries the cold sometimes makes my ligaments stiff.

I like cold more than hot. So - 9c is nothing to me. I do keep my feet and hand worm though.

You can always put on more cloth. You cant get out of your skin.

I tell my (cold natured) wife, "You can always put on more clothes. I can't take off my skin." LOL. Of course, this is usually in reply to running the a/c all the time here in Texas. It's also used on the rare occasion that she asks me to turn on the heat. Unless it gets to 32F (0C) I usually don't turn on the heat. Sometimes if it gets to the mid 30's I might, usually not. I'd just sooner pile on more blankets/comforters. I just sleep in my briefs and with the weenie weather here I often end up waking up to a sweaty bed. Yuck. :D
