Seriously thinking of splurging on a 4k monitor for home. Tired of dealing with the annoyances of multi monitor, I can't seem to figure out a proper setup where dialogs don't open all over the place. And Synergy keeps crashing so doing multi PC is not working out well either.

They seem to go for about $500+ though, seems like a lot of money for a monitor. But it's still better than over a grand which is what they were before.

Even debating on a TV, they are cheaper, but probably will feel too big.

It's a gamble though, I don't know if it will work with my KVM.

65" Heier 4k tv :awe:

Too big for a monitor. But would be nice as a TV. Have a 55" HD right now. 32-40 rannge would probably be perfect for a monitor. I'm thinking the 24 range might be too small, like text and such might be too small to read. So I get into the $1,000+ range if I stick with a monitor, but if I go with TV it's suddenly a few hundred. Not sure why such a big difference. My concern with TVs is that most of them are smart TVs now. So what kind of data is it going to be collecting about what I'm doing on my computer. I presume it can communicate via the HDMI or just use some kind of wireless transmission. It only needs to transmit one way.

How do we know it just uses the network? Spy devices arn't exactly designed to be known about or easy to disable. :p They usually use their own protocol to a relay point of sorts. Could open it up to check though. As far as I know Vizio and Samsung are the only ones that do this.
