lulz should have used your fingers

lol considering the size of that arc, I'm glad I didn't. :D If I don't repair this I can probably make a small tesla coil or jacobs ladder with this psu.

Though I wonder how hard it would be to retrofit a LED backlight. I don't really want to spend much money on this though. So chances are it will be scrap.

Was one of my monitors at work and figured if I can fix it I'll use it as an extra. Our new PCs actually support up to 6 monitors. The current PCs are limited to 4 unless you want to use a crappy USB video adapter.

Just checking in real quick. I'll be going away again for several days at least.
So little to do and lots of time to do it. Well sort of...I'll die soon.

Yeah I figured those only ran at like 600v or something, but this was much higher voltage than that. I can probably use a voltage divider to measure it. I think the light bulb itself is what is having an issue though, so it won't be worth fixing but if I can measure the power going into it and put it on the scope I can confirm that when the light gets all flickery, if it's the power or the light. It does not even look accessible, the LCD panel itself is a single piece. I was hoping it was just a capacitor or something but the psu actually looks half decent quality and no bulging caps.

I may have also blown the controller by putting the flat flex in backwards. I can see the backlight is on but there is no picture. I will have to find a computer that I can connect to it, but I should be seeing the "no cable connected" message.

This was headed to the garbage anyway, so I tried. :D

No one cares.

I believe I stated this in the previous post. Though that was like a week ago, so I don't feel like trying to find it. Fact is I don't even care about myself. I am a disgusting despicable individual, and right now I think I have hair in my mouth. It's gross, and I can't seem to get rid of it. I'll be right back, I'm going to try to make myself vomit to see if it comes out.
