the .338 has a lot of praise from the military community. the sako rifle was also part of that combo i think

.338 is nice, but I don't have any on hand AND I don't really need a rifle that is accurate out to 1,500 yards...

.308 is generally good out to about 800 yards.
 
the common 7mm is the Remington.

what i think it is. was thinking about the .300 but does not look like that anymore.

the old big game pc hunting games used to have some rifles that were said to use a 7mm cartridge. was supposed to be long ranged and flat. was not the .308 or the 30-06.
 
Will have to handle one in person to see how it feels. So far I have only used an SSG 3000 .308 Winchester with 24" barrel. But I don't think I can afford that for myself. Though I may just end up saving up more for something like that if i cant find something cheaper that I like the feel of.

so are any smaller gunsmiths affordable enough to buy?
