Life is good.

Got a new Gigabyte 4GB GTX770 sitting in my computer, and the darn thing is so quiet..I thought it hadn't turned on when I first booted my PC up with the new card.

Not used to seeing my GPU running cooler than my CPU.
(109 degrees F for the CPU,95 degrees F for the GPU when idle.)

My old card was a EVGA GTX480(introduced in 2010). 3 years of videocard development makes a astounding difference in performance.

Nice, been thinking of changing my video card, been having nothing but trouble in Linux and pretty sure it's the video card. I have a GTX 560. Might even go ATI. I have some debts to pay before I put more money into this machine though.

Since I don't game a lot I'm even debating on going with something lower end, I hate the fact that my PC uses more power than all of my servers combined. I'd like to put it on the big UPS but I'd hate for it to add such a huge load on the run time. On the other hand I do game sometimes so I'd have to be limited by the video card.

The 7750 GDDR5 is only $85 or so after rebate on Newegg. Doesn't even require the power connector.

FWIW, you know...

Nice to know. My 60's require TWO 6 pin connectors LOL. That's like 6 12v lines. They may as well just run on 250 volts and require a twist lock external plug at this point lmao.

This night shift is going by way smoother than last night. Helps that I had a good sleep unlike the night before.
