Just finished installing CentOS on my new file server. I decided to call it Isengard.

Linux wont detect the built on network cards. . Going to have to buy a PCI-e one. Was hoping not to, as I wanted to use that last slot for my Fibre channel HBA. Might be a way to get the network to work though.

Also I can't believe it but this beast only uses around 80 watts! For a xeon and a server grade mobo I was expecting at least a couple hundred watts. Mind you it will go up as I add more hard drives.

It lives!

Turns out NetworkManager was enabled. They should call it NetworkMesser. All it does is overcomplicate the management of the network. Disabled it, good to go!

Well I've been wanting to get a new iMac but they will probably be updated i the very near future. Guess I could get a MBA, but I dunno if I want to buy a laptop at this point...I told myself a while back that I'd never buy another laptop...

Ugh, cat just puked. She's starting to learn though... at least she went to do it in the same room as the litter box, and not in the same place she was (my office). My room door was also opened, and she did not go do it on the bed. Baby steps.

Eventually maybe she can do it in the litter box.

No, definitely getting a Mac. I already have a Mini for my music production setup. Want to run both OS X and Win 7

LOL I can't believe how terrible HDD QC is these days. 4 BRAND NEW drives. Already have one that has the click of death. Not even an hour of run time. wtf man. That's only 4 drives and one is already failing. lol Glad I'm not in much of a hurry to put these in production.

As a side note, the water in my toilet is orange, I don't know why. I had to flush a couple times for it to go away. It's all orange inside the tank. It's almost like rust. There must of been a small chunk of rusty water from the construction going on and it just so happened I got it when I flushed the toilet, then it sat in the tank. That's my guess anyway.
