a male and female from the same department got fired this week on the same day/time.

I was really hoping for drama, but it looks like none will appear.

my job always does it on Monday or Friday and always before lunch.

I've put in my request that they do it on Friday and give me one of the free Subway coupons they have.

any time someone leaves the company here (by choice or otherwise), an email goes out to the entire company just to inform people so no one accidentally gives them access to any systems/facilities (yes, there was an incident years ago that brought about this policy).

the general rule of thumb is that if the notification email is sent on a Friday, the person quit; any other day of the week and they were probably fired (or left on bad terms, without giving notice)

those emails only go to leadership, IT and workforce at my company. They keep everything very, very hush hush.

Yesterday I found out that one of our supervisors quit on Monday night. That's a pretty big deal since there were only 5 of them and she had been with the company a very, very long time. But there was no announcement or even mention of it. It will be that way for about a year.

The odd part is that our director started firing off a bunch of emails about unrelated subjects. She onl sends emails to us pee ons once or twice a year.

it was before my time, but like 10 years ago, there was an incident where a guy was fired but he kept coming back into the office to use the bathrooms, grab food from the free vending machines, hang out with friends, etc.

he avoided his old manager and no one was the wiser for weeks until he got caught.

our big "situation" was there was an old lady with dementia in the parking lot. She was very lost and very confused. A rep brought her in out of the cold and had her wait in the lobby while she got a supervisor. The supervisor called the cops and the lady was helped.

Until leadership got involved. They decided it was a huge security violation and seriously considered firing the rep that let her in. I've never seen anything like it. Luckily someone used some common sense and squashed the issue.
