A mix of all those.

Subaru Outback!

You'll laugh at winter next year, it'll haul everything you need internally except plywood, and plywood can go on the roof rack. Mileage will beat your Grand Prix (3800 Series II = 19 MPG, Outback 2.5 CVT = 24 MPG). It'll trade off a little on the power, unfortunately, as it is a 2.5 H4, unless you get the 3.6. If you get the 3.6, it's pricier by about $4000 I think, but it'll have similar MPG to your GP, with more power, and the ability to tow some 3000 pounds.

Bane's a bit of a car snob, with a serious distaste for four bangers, and absolutely zero respect for a naturally aspirated four banger. I have at least some respect for a turbo four, as some of them can at least give me a run for the money.

I'm very serious in my recommendation, ICF. Admittedly, you can also consider light SUV's and crossovers. Nissan Murano, Subaru Forester/Tribeca, that sort of thing.

You may, of course, take note that my suggestions will be perpetually Asian. I have judged the domestics, and found them wanting - as did the entire market three years ago. Ford is learning, the other two are not. Similarly, Honda and Toyota are falling into a slump, something that seems to happen to every car company that gets to top tier. But I digress. Most domestics are very large on the outside, poor quality interiors within, a decided lack of fit/finish, et cetera.

And forget Europeans, unless you like hunting down electrical gremlins every weekend.

LOL... first worlders. I remember driving a car with 3 gears. :D

3MT? I'm not even sure when the last of those was sold in America.

My first car was a four speed auto. Nothing in my house, to the extent of my memory, was ever less than a 4AT.

The first time I saw the number 5 written on a gear stick.. I just felt like fapping right there.

Murano is a possibility, as are some of the smaller GM ones.
