Me too (while I was tutoring), and apparently I learned it wrong in grade school.

I learned that a 4:3 ratio is 3/4 odds.

Apparently, its supposed to be a 3:4 ratio. That pissed off some of my tutees.

I've never liked dealing with ratios because of that sort of thing.

After seeing what my dad went through.. I would not touch stock trading with a 10 foot pole.

Heh. I'm looking to get out, have been looking to get out for ages. I'm avoiding getting out for a loss, but I'll make better interest in a bank.

It really is just a form of gambling.

IMO, it would be fine if the stock value reflects the companies worth, but in this day and age of excessive speculation.. unless you are an insider... it is not worth the risk.
