Hard to say if that's really ripping you off. Local ma and pa shops HAVE to raise their costs over the big guys like Amazon, only way they can survive. People shop at them for reasons other than price.
Well they are the biggest pet store in town, they carry everything. From birds to reptiles, dogs, cats, fresh/salt water fishes etc. I would say they could have some room to charge more being local, but over double, comon..

Ok yeah if they're that size then yeah double is kind of high. I was thinking more your ma and pa pet store. Still you DO see lots of crazy markups at all kinds of B&M stores over the same stuff online. Since I work for NCIX I'm king of biased I guess but we are more of an online retailer that happens to have some retail locations. And I see lots of places with prices easily double ours for the exact same thing. In fact some of the smaller places use us as their suppliers.

Haven't done enough research yet. However 2 companies that stand out are EKG or Beyerdynamics. Good old Sennheisers are also always another option. Would be nice to get something that doesn't need an amp.

False, it is not nice to get something that does not need an amp because if it does not need an amp then it is terrible.

Ya this store is massive, it's called WhitiesPets (http://whitiespets.com/). IF you want any type of fish, you go there. They have stuff you can't find anywhere local. Used to be, when I needed filters I'd go and browse to see if I wanted any new fish for the pond or tank. I'd usually walk away buying something else in addition to the filter. Lately I've been curbing this habit and now it will be even less.

So no one has any advice for the tinting before I goto bed? :( The tint threads in ATG were all from 2010, anything new since that time?

Isn't that a little extreme? I've read some pretty glowing reviews of a few headphones in the 2-$300 range for cans that didn't need an amp, can't remember which they were. Anyway I'm willing to look at ones that DO need an amp of course.

In your opinion how important is the quality of the amp? I've looked at getting a cheapish, but not crappy, sound card in the past with a built in headphone amp. Something like the Auzentech Forte or Asus Xonar series.

Tell me about window tints. Want a good one for my truck. Just need two sides and whatever is legal in the front (California).

Ceramic is considered the best, followed by non-metallics. A metallic-based tint is basically obsolete; it'll screw up all your electronics too.

Your best bet is to actually pick a big car forum to find a good tint shop. Since you're 32, have a decent vehicle, and probably a few bucks to spend, try a luxury car forum (i.e. e90post.com, g35driver.com, something like that). Search for tint threads, then find something local to your area - it's the best way I can come up with to find a good place.

A good tint shop will a) do a good job in the application, and b) they'll do legal work, stuff that doesn't exceed whatever limit your state has.

You look like you might have DOT-approved factory tinting on the rear glass already, including the backseat side windows. Those may already be way darker than the normal legal limit, but as DOT-approved, they get away with it.

If I'm correct in that assessment, you'll really only be looking for your driver's and passenger's windows, so the cost should be pretty low. Comparison: in MA, $450-500 will get you a 35% Huper-Optik ceramic tint (that's pretty much top tier product) for all four side windows and the back glass of a G35/7 sedan.

It snowed this morning, a light dusting.

Enough to make traffic a fucking nightmare.

First I have a tow truck behind me who won't shut off his high beams. Then a jeep cuts me off, and so now I'm stuck behind this jeep, with the tow truck still behind me.

I end up later getting stuck behind an Audi TT, who is doing all of 30 because oh my god there's white stuff on the ground! So now I have the Audi in front (the Jeep turned away), and the tow truck behind me. The truck eventually leaves, and I'm stuck behind this Audi for three miles.

Eventually, the Audi turns away, a tractor trailer comes out left in front of me since I'm already stopped. I sit back and wait; he's spinning his wheels like hell trying to get moving.

Past that, go a couple miles, and find a Toyota Corolla doing 30, for much the same reason as the Audi.

I finally give up on the backroads, the highway has cleared south of an accident, and go back up there. No problem... until the offramp.

Up all night watching epic camwhore implode and do things on cam that are illegal in 49 states. Poor girl is going to suffer the wrath of the internets now.

The woman ahead of me in a Nissan Rogue is texting, so she's leaving huge gaps in the line ahead of us, and when we finally get clear, is very slow.

Also, somebody flew up the side of the ramp, a fat angry woman in a raised pickup, cuts off everyone waiting in line, forces into the merge point, and I can see her in my mirrors screaming at people for having the audacity to be on the road in front of her.

I fervently wished for her truck to catch on fire.
