The best sex is usually quite ugly. Sweaty, nasty, smelly, god awful faces, every possible fluid going in one direction or another, and both people must be genuinely ashamed when they complete. Ideally they cant even look each other in the eye.

Just watched an LS1 Miata versus a 466 RWHP C6 Corvette, doing a 50-125 roll.

It took nine seconds for the winning car to do 50-125... and that car was the Miata, with a couple car lengths between them.

So that's a car with around 300 WHP (unless there are unlisted mods), and weighing 2500 pounds, beating a car weighing about 3200 pounds and having 466 WHP.

Corvette carries 6.87 pounds per HP. Miata carries 8.33 pounds per HP.

Using 2550 pounds for the car weight, and the following power figures...

LS1 = 300 RWHP. (85.7%)
LS2 = 355 RWHP. (88%)
LS376/480 = 415 RWHP. (86.5%)

The wheel versus crank values are fairly close, but I think 86 is the most accurate figure (and 14% is a commonly agreed upon figure), so I think the LS2 value is off, and I'll adjust it.

The LS2 shows 50 HP more at the crank over the LS1... so at the wheels, 45 HP over, which puts it in the vicinity of 90% transferred. So, we're in the right ballpark. If I wanted more accuracy, I'd need a lot more data, or at the very least, to use numbers other than ending in 5 or 0.

Hard top Miata is worth more than soft top, and an aftermarket hard top looks be about $1000. The car looks better with a hard top, in addition to all the other advantages of it.
