Family should be here in 20 minutes or so. This year, I told my mom not to get us any gifts. If you recall the story from last Christmas, she had gotten me a Logan's Roadhouse giftcard 3 years in a row. Nothing wrong with that, except we generally don't eat there and I asked her not to get me another after the first year. I asked again after the second year. It obviously doesn't work.

We did eat there about a month ago in order to make use of the giftcard and surprisingly, it was actually decent.

Well, good luck! Hope you survive the family!

my joke gift made my niece cry :(

my whole family has been really insufferable this year... I have tons to be thankful for, but they've set me in a foul mood after this past week. I need a nice long break of not seeing them for awhile.

I avoided my entire extended family.

MASSIVE SUCCESS!
nice

I should have pulled the work card with Christmas breakfast today.

9 am my sister tells me... so I figure, I can show up, exchange gifts, have a bite to eat, and then go to work by 10, 10:30 am.

we didn't end up sitting down at the table until almost noon D: at that point, I was just so annoyed that I had a couple pieces of bacon and left.

I don't mind having a late brunch, but when I've got work to take into account, I need to plan for this shit. my work schedule is flexible, but ultimately, I need to punch in 10 hours today.

I could have woken up early, worked from 7 am - 11:30 am, gone over to their house for brunch, and then worked again from like 1:30 pm - 7 pm... now I'm stuck working until 11 pm tonight.

Ew, where do you work that you have to be in for Xmas?
I work for a web hosting company... gogo 24/7/365 support.

it's double time and I volunteered to work, so I can't really complain about that, it just would have been nice to have been given the chance to schedule my day better

/sigh

bitches be crazy.

work is actually nice and slow today... I'm just watching the ticket queue just in case and surfing amazon.com to try and decide what to spend my gift cards on.

Add another $25 Amazon gift card to that! $475! :awe:
I'm really tempted to buy the new Star Wars mmo with my amazon gift cards, but we usually get amex giftcards from work too and since there's no benefit to buying SW:TOR online versus at a retail store, I may as well hold out and use the amex cards for that since they can't be used online.

Unless I do a custom build, which would probably be more powerful, and a little pricier.

Of course, I have that fluted plastic outer lens, not smooth, which means it'll throw lines through the light, and the primary rule of lighting still applies - it's about the focus, not the bulb power.

Good plan.
