For my family's purposes, which is to say, about 15-20 pages printed per month, getting anything more than this printer would be silly.

Yeah I got a brother 4040 for 200 bucks. Changing out all the toner will cost me 200 each time.

Used to be they cost a couple thousand but I have no idea what the toner went for.

They screw you on toner costs and unless something has changed recently, an inkjet will still soundly beat them in photo print quality.

The toner used to be more expensive for them believe it or not. IIRC, it was around $200 per cartridge for the early color lasers.

I opted for the 8480DN. I don't print colour. And this sucker takes cheapass toners. 1200dpi, duplex printing, scanner with 50 sheet feeder and fax. 32ppm :biggrin: got it on sale for like 340.
