Well I won the 360 so it was like free moneySo it's not so much cheaper as converting the free 360 and my older 5970 into a free vid card upgrade.

I've been slacking off a bit these days. Not doing much research.. no interest in the course work either(Doing course work for Ph.D, as a requirement, is such a waste of time).. even though I am doing pretty well in them.
My GF is out of town and we haven't been speaking much these days. Her b'day is coming up, but I haven't shipped any gift yet.
On the bright side, the paper my professor and I submitted has been accepted for a journal.

It is, but unfortunately, platforms still have exclusives so you could miss out on some good games and even with the consolization of games, at some point in the console lifecycle, the PC blows it away. And even discounting the PC's hardware advantage, you can't discount the PC's control advantage. A KB and mouse is just far superior to a gamepad in FPS games and good luck trying to play an MMO on a console without a KB.
In my case, I seriously considered making the PS3 my main platform before I built my new PC a couple of months ago. The problem is that most people I know have Xboxes rather than PS3s, and even though I have 2 Xboxes, there is no way in hell I'd ever make that my main platform. The ONLY reason I even buy games for the Xbox now is because they're games my brothers and I may play; otherwise, I've have gone PS3 exclusive 2 years ago. I also refuse to pay for XBL Gold to watch Netflix or play online. Yes, I'm pissed at MS (in addition to the reasons I stated, I've gone through4 or 5 Xboxes) and if I do get a console in the next gen, I am leaning towards the PS4 exclusively.

I now have a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 5 snow tires downstairs. Two of them show 6/32 or 7/32, two of them show right around 8/32. I think the higher ones will go on the front (I'm AWD, so it matters less) with the idea of keeping the braking end better off.
It's 60 outside, but it feels a lot colder than that. Between the weather and the physics, I won't get to wash the car today.
