Here's a question for you alpha. I know you're an amateur photographer. I asked this in another post. How do you capture candid photos of people? For artistic photography of people going about their daily lives you want the shots to look completely candid. Yet people can get angry if you take their photo without their permission. But it's so often the case that once you ask permission they then unconsciously act unnaturally. You often don't want the subject to look at the camera or be even aware the camera is there.

That's why you buy the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM Lens

You're far enough away for people not to notice you. Plus you have to have a certain "I don't give a fuck" type of attitude

Do you think a majority of the well known photographers who take candid shots, say national geographic photographers taking artistic shots of daily life in <insert country here> use telephoto lenses for this kind of work? Would make sense.

What do you think. Should I sell the Xbox and do what I was saying above? Or leave enough alone and actually set it up?

So here's a crazy idea that a quick look at ebay suggests IS doable. Sell my current year old 5970 for about $399. A look at used 5970s that have sold recently suggests it's not unreasonable. Sell the 250GB Xbox 360 Kinect bundle that I won but never used for a similar ~$390. Upgrade to 2x GTX 570s in SLI or something similar. Looks like I'd end up with a net positive or negative $20 or so out of it all. Not sure I want to part with the Xbox but I've had it here for months and months and haven't done anything with it. And most of the games I really like are not on the 360, they are on the PC, Wii or handhelds. Would you do this?

Well I won the 360 so it was like free money So it's not so much cheaper as converting the free 360 and my older 5970 into a free vid card upgrade.
