1) Lawn work should ALWAYS be done in boots. There are no exceptions. Weed whacking, lawn mowing, digging, planting, patio laying, wall building, roof repair, raking...

Boots are too heavy for that.

2) If your favorite shoes are hiking boots, wear them as often as you like. Wear them around the house (if you wear shoes indoors), wear them for lawn work...

Nah, I save them for winter usually and then wear them whenever I can.

I was at a private high school. Some years, we were permitted to wear sneakers in warm weather, boots in cold weather. Other years, dress shoes in warm weather, boots in cold weather. Dress shoes were always acceptable.

On sneakers years, I wore sneakers until the weather turned cold, then I wore my boots. On dress shoes only years, I wore my boots anyways. Black Timberland Pros, polished once a month. Nobody ever noticed.

I think my Magnums weigh 2/3 of what my Tims did.

The Magnums have a softer sole, more flexibility, more padding, and are quieter.

Tactical boots are awesome all around footwear.

Yes, I am being nostalgic. But if the only thing my wife got me for Xmas was a pair of the white/blue weapons that looked like the ones I wore in high school, I'd be ecstatic.

If more shoes were multifunctional I would have fewer pairs. I need good jogging shoes. When I worked at Hynix I needed the most comfortable walking/standing shoes money could buy, and my mother got them for me as an Xmas gift.
I need waterproof insulated boots for winter and camping, which I got, but they are terribly uncomfortable. Ended up getting slip on waterproof shoes for walking around in the winter cuz are they are easier on my feet.
I need sandals for walking around in the seriously hot summer months. Need steel toed boots for rough work. And when I was in the Navy I had to wear black steel-toed boots only. Couldnt find them insulated and waterproofed at the time. Oh, and of course I need nice black leather shoes for the occasional function, or job interviews.

Then put them on your list.

She'll probably ignore it though, they aren't fashionable now.

My wife, for the record, refuses to buy high tops for me. Everything I wear now is a standard sneaker except the old beat up high tops I have that I occasionally use for lawn work.

I like the ankle support they give. Probably why I like my boots the best.

Okay neffers here is the deal:

We meet with my DB prof almost ever week. On my syllabus it states 11/9 and then 11/30
Which means we don't meet with him this week. Or next (thanksgiving break)

Well one of my group members met with him friday about his grade. He said something about our meeting this week. Well the stuff that we deliver on the 30th we haven't learned yet. So even if he did move the meeting up we would have nothing to give him. He also hasn't contact any of us via phone / email / webCT

He should contact me the project manager.

I'm guessing if he expects something out of us today I'll have something substantial to argue about.

HI SHORTY!

Welcome to the most female-friendly edition of the neffing thread ever.

1) Good jogging shoes - any running shoe or cross trainer works well. Go find some that are comfortable, run a bit in the store, and buy 'em.
2) What are your winter/camping boots? Again, tactical boots. They're comfortable, waterproof, and pretty warm. If I were camping, I'd wear mine, but if camping is a big thing for you, they aren't that warm once they get wet on the outside.
3) My boots weren't available waterproof and composite toe. I'd rather a comp than steel though, it's lighter.
