What's the lifter?

The lifter is this -- the black bracket on the sides with the metal pipes going to the cover. It is about the only way one person can remove the cover and put it back on.

It is probably more the size of the cover rather than the actual weight. Mine is 8' x 8'.

I think my brothers and I can install it. Actually, I think just the cross bar needs to be replaced and if it works the way I think it does, you just have to size it up right and then mount it. I have the old bar for reference.
